The behavior of the dollar in Colombia may vary depending on several factors, such as the local and international economy, monetary policies and inflation, among others. In general, these variables are one of the guidelines for the great challenges faced by companies in Colombia, especially those in the mining sector, which are currently surviving in the face of difficult market conditions. For this week, we find that the dollar started with an upward trend due to several factors that occurred last week. First, we can see that the markets are adjusting to an eventual victory of Donald Trump, who would come with monetary policies that could stimulate inflation. Secondly, the market is awaiting statements from Jerome Powell (Fed Chairman) and Mary Daly (San Francisco Fed President) who last week hinted at new rate reports for 2024.
